99Tc vegetation reference material
Description
For the past several years participants at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory - Department of Energy Conference on Analytical Chemistry in Energy Technology discussed the need for environmental standards/reference materials for 99Tc. Past efforts at interlaboratory comparisons of soil, water and vegetation samples for 99Tc have been unsuccessful. At the urging of many of our colleagues, the Environmental Measurements Laboratory agreed to prepare a 99Tc vegetation reference material. The sample preparation and the interlaboratory comparison to establish the 99Tc reference value of 6.55 +- 0.22 pCi/g are described in this report
