Physical conditions in the nuclei of Seyfert galaxies of type 1
Description
Electron densities and temperatures in the nuclei of 36 Seyfert galaxies of the type 1 and 5 radiogalaxies with wide emission lines are determined on the basis of the Oesterbrock spectrophotometry results by the method of the Siton curves crossing. It is assumed that in all the objects there are 3 schematic zones: -H, [0111] and [011]. The O++, Ar+3, Ne++ ions are luminescent in the [0111] zone, the O+, N+ and S+ ions - in the [011] zone. It is shown that in the luminescence zone of the O++ ion of all the investigated objects the temperatures are close to 10000 K, and the densities - to 5x106 cm-3. Dispersion values of both parameters are negligibly small. Spread of values of these parameters in the O+ luminescence zones is significantly greater. Hence, in the [011] zones of different galaxies there is significantly greater range of temperature and density defining the relative emission line intensity. Therefore, there is a greater range of the most relative intensities. These results are in a good agreement with the fact that the dependence of the [011], [N11] and [S11] emission lines relative intensities on the colour index is noticeably greater than the similar dependence for the [0111] lines. The results obtained do not in principal, contradict the results obtained earlier. From the other hand, they agree with the dependence interpretation obtained by M.A. Arakelyan and G.T. Petrov
