124Sn isotope separation for neutrinoless double beta decay (NDBD) experiment

  • 1. Laser and Plasma Technology Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

An overview of the feasibility of enriching 124Sn isotope using atomic vapour laser isotope separation (AVLIS) process and its new photochemical variant, PC-AVLIS are discussed. The preliminary experimental results on spectroscopy of tin, vaporization of tin by electron beam evaporation to form an atomic beam, thermal ion suppression, and ion collection are presented.
