An equivalent angular moment approach and new spectral nodal methods applied to slab-geometry discrete ordinates neutron transport problems

Description
We present the angular flux approach and an equivalent angular moment approach for the derivation of systems of linear algebraic equations whose unknowns are the weights in the auxiliary equations of spectral nodal methods applied to slab-geometry discrete ordinates problems in neutron transport theory. This angular moment approach opens doors to the development of new spectral nodal methods based on the preservation of analytical results for low-order angular moments of the angular flux. (author)
