Strain hardening of armco-iron during low-cyclic fatigue in hydrogen gas
Description
A comparative investigation of the kinetics of variation of force characteristics of a small-cycle loading of Armco-iron in gaseous hydrogen and in vacuum has shown that a dynamic deformation ageing is more intensive in hydrogen than in vacuum. The drop in the durability in hydrogen is due to a sharp loss of plasticity of the surface layer because of an absorption of hydrogen
