On the nature of the resonances observed in photonuclear reactions

Description
The continuum states of light atomic nuclei 6He, 6Li, and 7He are studied in the microscopic approach which takes into account the dynamics of cluster and quadrupole collective degrees of freedom. It is shown that interaction of these nucleiwith electromagnetic radiation leads to excitation of collective resonaces whose energy exceeds 20 MeV and each width is less than 1 MeV, and to excitation of giant quadrupole resonances with parameters E=12-15 MeV and GITA approximately 5 MeV
