The large glitch from PSR 0355+54 and its post-glitch relaxation

Description

The recently observed large glitch of PSR 0355 + 54 and its post-glitch relaxation are interpreted within the vortex creep model applied previously to the post-glitch timing data for the Crab and Vela pulsars and for PSR 0525 + 21. A linear response regime of vortex creep is shown to explain the post-glitch observations and is likely to be operative in parts of the neutron star crust superfluid. (author)
