Description
Using Cr-51 as tracer and UV/VIS spectrophotometry, the behaviour of the system Cr O3/H C I O4 (70%) and the reduction of Cr(VI) in acidic media were studied, in the temperature range from 50 to 1940 C. Estimates of the solubility of Cr O3 in H Cl O4 (70%) showed a close connection between the solubilization process and the acid reduction of Cr(VI) in the system. These processes occur simultaneously and are dependent on the temperature and the amount of Cr(VI) in the system. (author). 8 refs, 4 figs
