Constraints on 5D anti--de Sitter embeddings

Description
We show that the embedding of either a static or a time dependent maximally three-symmetric brane with a nonzero spatial curvature k into a noncompactified 5D anti--de Sitter bulk does not yield exponential suppression of the geometry away from the brane. The implications of this result for brane-localized gravity are discussed
