Abnormality diagnosis device for nuclear reactor

Description

The device of the present invention rapidly detects leakage of primary coolants due to rupture of heat transfer pipes in a steam generator of a PWR type reactors, to recognize the state of a ruptured portion. That is, the device of the present invention comprises (1) a gamma ray detector disposed to a secondary main steam pipeline in which steams generated from the steam generator flows into a turbine, (2) a measuring system for measuring signals from the gamma ray detector as a dose rate or a counting rate, (3) a judging system for judging an abnormal symptom for primary coolants leaked from the heat transfer pipes based on the correlation between the operation state of the reactor and fluctuation of N16 by using the data of the measuring system, and (4) a calculation processing system for analyzing the height and the shape of fluctuating peaks of N16 to estimate the state of the rupture and judging the presence of leakage. With such a constitution, the process data and the change of the radiation concentration in the secondary pipelines during reactor operation are compared and monitored, thereby enabling to recognize the presence of abnormality and the transition of the state of the abnormal point in an early stage.
