Relativistic wave functions of the deuteron, and hard processes

Description

The relativistic wave functions of the deuteron are defined in terms of the light-cone variables as the NNd vertex parts with one real and one virtual nucleon. The electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron, the structure functions of deep inelastic ed scattering, and the cross sections for cumulative particle production on the deuteron are expressed in terms of these wave functions in the impulse approximation. The wave functions of the deuteron are then constructed in the pole approximation on the basis of its nonrelativistic wave functions, its static electromagnetic characteristics, and the magnitudes of the structure functions of ed scattering in the cumulative region. The electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron and the cross sections for cumulative pion production on the deuteron obtained with these wave functions are compared with the experimental data
