Structure and properties of pyrolytic cadmium

  • 1. Gor'kovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Gorki (Russian Federation)

Description

Surface properties and morphology of coatings of pyrolytic cadmium prepared by gas-phase pyrolysis of dimethyl- and diethyl cadmium and by precipitation on steel substrate were studied. Cadmium films of thickness from 1 mkm up to several dozens were obtained depending on metallization time. Comparison of pyrolyic and electrolytic cadmium properties displayed higher microhardness of pyrolytic cadmium at almost similar rest parameters. Absence of steel substrate hydrogenation was marked among other advantages of pyrolytic cadmium coating
