Description

Nowadays a crucial problem in Physics is the definition of the structure and composition of the Universe. The determination of density of matter and particle composition of the Universe can give us an indication of its evolution. Some theoretical models for the invisible Dark Matter of the Universe were proposed. Sometime they introduce hypothetical particles not discovered since now and not included in the present particle theories. An increasing experimental effort is under way to check these models. Some experiments are now running and new detectors, especially designed for dark matter search experiments, have been proposed and developed. An analysis of the different experimental approaches to the dark matter problem is discussed and future possibilities are reported. (author)
