Description
While quantitatively myocardial thallium scans have given useful clinical information, some quantitative assessment of wall uptake would be very helpful both for evaluation of single images and, in particular, for intercomparison of multiple images from the same patient, e.g. exercise image v. recovery. Basically, a similar approach was used to that reported previously in the literature based on radial profiles. Various parameters have been extracted. The wall integral between two pre-defined thresholds have been selected. The form of the display, being a curve plotted as (r, theta) is well adapted to the superimposition of data from multiple images. The analogue images and the digital radial profiles of 25 patients having both stress 201 Tl scans and coronary arteriographie, were read without clinical notes. The value of the digital technique while not evident for the interpretation of the stress images alone, is quite clear for the comparison of the stress and recovery images
