On the problems of determining the Gα level in water and sediment samples
Description
In order to reduce the effect of energy dependence of the α counts and the effect of matrices, the samples should be measured with a constant and very small density (3.2 mg/cm2). Am-241 is used for calibration instead of the normally used calibration substance Usub(nat) in the form of UO2 Ac22H2O. One need not worry about problems of preparation. (DG)

Zur Reduzierung des Einflusses der Energieabhaengigkeit der α-Zaehlausbeute sowie des Matrixeinflusses sollten die Proben bei konstanter und moeglichst geringer Schichtdicke gemessen werden (3,2 mg/cm2). An Stelle der verwendeten Eichsubstanz Usub(nat) in Form von UO2Ac22H2O wird Am-241 zur Kalibrierung benutzt. Praeparationsprobleme sind nicht zu befuerchten. (DG)Additional details
