Embolization of renal angiomyolipomas. Case report
Description
Angiomyolipomas are benign tumors of mesenchymal origin that frequently affect the kidney and present a high risk of spontaneous bleeding. This article describes the case of a patient with bilateral renal angiomyolipomas and associated hematuria, who experienced selective embolization whit microparticles of PVA. From this it was concluded that the selective embolization of these tumours shows good results in the prevention of bleeding and in the preservation of renal function.
