Description
Magnetic resonance (MR) was performed in 21 children with Ewing's sarkoma and osteosarkoma to evaluate the tumor volume. According to the CESS and EICESS therapy study protocol a threshold tumor volume level is an initial risk factor for therapy randomisation. We performed axial STIR-sequences, pre- and post-Gd-DTPA-T1W and -T2W sequences. The calculation of tumor volume by using MR allows a high sensitivity in the dedication of tumor tissue vs. normal tissue. (orig.)
