Luminosity function of E and SO galaxies
Description
A luminosity function (LF) for E and SO galaxies is obtained from a new sample of 248 southern galaxies (Sadler 1984). In the computations account is taken of the inhomogeneity of galaxy distribution which is large and changes considerably the shape of LF. The incompleteness of the sample and the infall on to the Virgo supercluster are also taken into consideration. (author)
