Reactivity measurement of complex reactor systems by neutron pulse technique
Description
The role neutron pulse technique among the general research efforts is given in the introductory part of this thesis, with an emphasis on reactor physics problems. Contribution of the thesis is described with the work flow and publications. The second part covers the historical review of the neutron pulse technique development. A systematic analysis of research related to this method is given and problems treated by this thesis are pointed out. The theoretical part includes the analysis of theoretical model for neutron distribution in the pure moderator. Space-time neutron distribution is analyzed and possible experiments are proposed. Correlations are analyzed between reactor reactivity and time state of the neutron population after introducing a neutron beam from a pulse source. The theoretical part treats the general problem of measurements and interpretation of results. Choice of instruments with optimum characteristics for this work is presented in the chapter 'Experimental devices'. Part of the work done and results which made the devices appropriate for work on this thesis are presented. The next chapter describes the experimental procedure and presents the primary and mostly processed obtained results. The last chapter of the thesis includes the analysis of results and conclusions. The Annex shows the details of auxiliary actions performed in order to verify particular results as well as codes written and applied for computer processing of data
