Description
The welding techniques used in the fabrication of fuel elements for PWR type reactors is studied. The emphasis is on the tube/plug welding of zircaloy fuel rods, its structural components fabrication and its assembly. The works on welding of fuel elements and the works aiming the soldering qualification and the welding processes in developing at Nuclebras. The welding problems in at heavy-components factory can be seen in the appendix I - Heavy components of PWR type reactors. (Author)

Abordam-se as tecnicas de soldagem utilizadas na fabricacao de elementos combustiveis para reatores nucleares tipo 'PWR', enfocando a soldagem tubo/tampao de suas varetas de zircaloy, a fabricacao de seus componentes estruturais e a sua montagem. Apresentam-se os trabalhos de soldagem de elementos combustiveis e os trabalhos visando a qualificacao de soldadores e de processos de soldagem em desenvolvimento na Nuclebras.
