Description

A relative efficiency for burnup measuring equipment with Ge(Li) detectors is defined considering self-absorption of gamma radiation in the objects to be measured and absorption in external absorbers. The relative efficiency is directly determined from fission products in the fuel rods or fuel assemblies under investigation having gamma spectra with a large number of lines. The relative efficiency determined by the fission products 106Rh, 134Cs and 154Eu shows an inaccuracy of 2 to 3 per cent within the energy range 500 to 1500 keV. (author)
