Description

We have investigated interfaces between chemically etched YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals and evaporated thin films of different materials by means of planar tunnel junctions with natural barriers. We have found that reproducible tunneling characteristics are obtained with Au, Bi and Sb counterelectrodes. Evidence for the local Tc of the Y-Ba-Cu-O compound is observed in these junctions. Less pronounced structures are found in the case of Sn counterelectrodes while Ag and Al junctions develop a large resistance peak at zero bias and low temperatures. (orig.)
