Description
Eighty-six patients with carcinoma of the uterine cervix were treated with radiation therapy for the paraaortic lymph nodes area (PALNRT) at 10 of the participating institutions in Kansai Cancer Therapist Group from January 1980 to December 1982. Acute transient complications developed in 5 cases (6 %), i.e., 3 leukopenia, 1 epigastralgia and 1 diarrhea and anorexia. Subacute-late complications developed in 7 cases (8 %), i.e., 1 abdominal pain, 4 gastric ulcer and 3 ileus (1 with gastri ulcer). One of these 3 cases with ileus were dead from panperitonitis at 3 years and 4 months after PALNRT. The remaining 6 patients were relieved with medication. (author)
