Description
In his opening remarks, Dr. Hans Blix, The Director General of the IAEA, stressed that the continuing challenge of nuclear industry is to demonstrate the safety of the nuclear technology and to ensure that its uses are exclusively peaceful. He also discussed the role of the IAEA which is to make the benefits of nuclear science available for the benefit of humankind and to ensure as best it can that its uses are peaceful
