Natural radioactivity of fresh waters in Serbia

Description
Statistical tests were performed on the γ-spectrometry measurement data obtained during the last decade for the natural radionuclides 40K, 226Ra, and 232Th, in water samples collected from the Danube River, the Sava River and its tributaries, ground waters and artifical lakes. The lognormal radio potassium distribution indicates a single statistical population. The presence of break points in the frequency distribution plots indicates that data for 226Ra and 232Th do not come from a single statistical population. The annual ingestion of 40K, 226Ra and 232Th was calculated and expressed in Bq y-1. (author). 12 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab
