Description
A solid state reaction between strontium carbonate and ruthenium oxide is studied employing thermogravimetry, effluent gas analysis and XRD techniques. In addition to temperature, other parameters such as ambient atmosphere and compaction of the reaction mixture influenced the reaction rate. The rate of reaction was much higher in oxygen compared to that in argon. The compaction of reaction mixture decreased the reaction rate. (author)
