Description
The paper concentrates on LWR-type reactors. Three Mile Island (TMI) is taken as the example to show the impact on research activities in this field, particularly discussing the following items: complex thermohydraulic transients and small leaks; course of severe accidents involving core meltdown; significance of the containment, especially integrity of the containment vessel; human factors. The author shows that the reactor safety philosophy valid in the U.S.S.R left aside the conclusions that could be drawn after the accident at TMI, so that the Chernobyl accident somehow belongs to the time before TMI, and global reactor safety research cannot be judged referring to the Chernobyl accident. Abstract (German)
In diesem Referat wird nur das Gebiet der Leichtwasserreaktoren behandelt. Als Beispiel ist Three Mile Island (TMI) angefuehrt, denn dieser Unfall fuehrte zu einer Neuausrichtung und Erweiterung der Forschungsaktivitaeten im Bereich der Sicherheit, mit den Schwerpunkten komplexe thermohydraulische Transienten und kleine Lecks, Ablauf von schweren Unfaellen mit Kernschmelze, Bedeutung des Sicherheitseinschlusses, insbesondere Integritaet des Containments und schliesslich der menschliche Faktor. Wenige Beispiele zeigen, dass die Russen, entgegen den meisten Reaktorbetreibern der Welt, nicht wirklich die im Anschluss an den Three Mile Island-Unfall erforderlichen Schlussfolgerungen gezogen haben. So sind die hinsichtlich der nuklearen Sicherheit aus dem Tschernobyl-Unfall zu ziehenden Schlussfolgerungen insofern begrenzt, als die nach dem TMI-Unfall erfolgte Schwerpunkteverlagerung nur weiterzufuehren ist.
