Statistical nature of radiometric sorting technology parameters

Relations are given for the mean metal content of input ore (Csub(v)), of the waste product (Csub(o)), and of the concentrate (Csub(k)). The relations apply for an ideal sorting controlled by a step function. Also shown are these relations for the actual sorting controlled by a distribution function. The differences in the metal contents for ideal and actual sorting are shown graphically. The relations are shown for the yields of waste and of concentrate for ideal and actual sorting. The yields are shown graphically. Practical application problems are solved for ideal and actual sorting. The relations derived and the graphic interpretation thereof allow the objective comparison and assessment of factors affecting the sorting results. (J.P.)
