Time resolution of an Anger-type gamma camera

Description

A gamma camera should produce a true image of a two-dimensional distribution pattern of radioactivity uninfluenced by the quantity of quantum flux. For this reason, we must expect from all gamma cameras of the Anger-type a temporal behavior that deviates from that of conventional quanta counters. It is the intention of this paper on the one hand to explain and analyse the counting loss typical for the time resolution of the gamma camera and on the other to compare the data obtained from an experiementally tested model with those expected in theory. Abstract (German)

Eine Gammakamera soll ein von der Groesse des rezipierten Quantenflusses nicht beeintraechtigtes, getreues Abbild eines flaechig verteilten Radioaktivitaetsmusters erzeugen. Es muss deswegen mit einem von den ueblichen Quantenzaehlern abweichenden Zeitverhalten aller Gammakameras vom sog. Anger-Typ gerechnet werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einerseits den das zeitliche Aufloesungsvermoegen charakterisierenden Zaehlverlust der Gammakamera zu begruenden und analytisch darzustellen, andererseits die an einem experimentell verifizierten Modell gewonnenen Messergebnisse mit den theoretischen Erwartungen kritisch zu vergleichen.
