The rf system for the acceleration of protons in the main HERA ring is a contribution from Canada to the construction phase of HERA. With the 52 MHz rf system for PETRA II [1], it is being built by CRNL under contract to the Institute of Particle Physics, with funding by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and DESY. In this paper the authors review system design and present a progress report on construction
