Assessment of left ventricular function by an ambulatory radionuclide monitoring (VEST)

  • 1. Huadong Hospital, Shanghai (China)
  • 2. Shanghai Medical Nuclear Instrment Factory (China)

Description

Ambulatory radionuclide monitoring of left ventricular function was performed with the VEST in 35 patients with coronary artery disease and 5 normal subjects. A transient decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (5%) lasting over 1 min was observed in 24 of the 35 patients with CAD during daily activities, only 4 episodes were accompanied with chest pain and 20 (83%) were asymptomatic. VEST may continuously monitor the change of both left ventricular function and the ECG during the activities of daily life. It was an accurate and sensitive parameter for the diagnosis of silence myocardial ischemia
