Mammography findings in previously operated breast

From a total of 4,000 mammograms, the mammograms of 417 patients with previous breast surgery were examined for postoperative structural changes. In 314 women, no postoperative structural change was found, whereas in 103 patients the mammogram showed more or less pronounced variations from the normal findings. The article described the roentgenological differences between postoperative cicratical changes and changes due to tumors in the mammogram. Attention is drawn to the importance of control mammography after wound healing has completed, as basic information for further mammographic follow-up control of the patients. (orig.)
