Description
This paper discusses the use of vitrification for treating low-level radioactive mixed wastes at the US Department of Energy's Oak Ridge Reservation. The basis for identification of vitrification as a mixed waste treatment is discussed, as well as the current status of vitrification technology. Laboratory and bench-scale experiments and demonstration programs for investigating mixed waste vitrification are summarized
