Day-time electron density distribution in the outer ionosphere in the geomagnetic equator region for phases of solar activity maximum and minimum

Description

Electron density distribution in the outer ionosphere in the geomagnetic equator region is calculated. The data obtained by the ''Interkosmos-19'' (21.05 1980) and ''Alouette-1'' (11.11 1962) satellites are used. The picture of latitude variations of electron density distribution is shown to be mainly determined by electromagnetic plasma drift whose direction and velocity variations in the solar activity cycle cause reconstruction of the whole electron density distribution in the outer ionosphere
