Fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background on a 2.3 deg angular scale

  • 1. Istituto TESRE, Bologna (Italy)

Description

The study of fluctuations in the temperature of the cosmic microwave background may provide important information on the origin of the large scale structures in the Universe. An experiment is in operation at Medicina (Bologna) for studying such temperature fluctuations on a 2 deg 3 angular scale at lambda=2.8 cm. Preliminary results seem to indicate ΔT/T<approximately 2x10-4
