On the age distribution of galactic cosmic rays
Description
I consider the general solution for the distribution of ages for primary cosmic rays for a class of steady-state, bounded models of cosmic-ray diffusion in the galaxy. Both one dimensional and three-dimensional models are considered, with point sources and distributed sources. In all models, the age distribution is approximately exponential for ages longer than the average age, although for shorter ages the distribution depends on the details of the model. (orig.)

Es wird die allgemeine Loesung einer Altersverteilung primaerer kosmischer Strahlung fuer eine Klasse stationaerer, begrenzter Modelle fuer die Diffusion kosmischer Strahlung in der Galaxis betrachtet. Es werden sowohl eindimensionale als auch dreidimensionale Loesungen mit Punktquellen und verteilten Quellen betrachtet. In allen Modellen geht die Altersverteilung ungefaehr exponentiell fuer Alter groesser als das mittlere Alter, wohingegen fuer geringere Alter die Verteilung von den Einzelheiten des Modells abhaengt.
