Numerical Studies on the Effect of Boundary Conditions for a Simply-Supported Plate

  • 1. Moscow Civil Engineering State University, Yaroslavskoe shosse 26, Moscow, 129337 (Russian Federation)

Description

In this paper we analyze a simply-supported plate under the action of transverse uniform pressure. The Mindlin theory of moderately thick plates is used for analysis. Different boundary conditions are considered at the edges of the plate and their effect on the solution, in particular, shear forces, is studied. Only finite element results are presented. (paper)
