Mass and energy characteristics of U-235 and Pu-239, 241 fission products by thermal neutrons

Description
Distribution of fission fragments by their masses, kinetic energies and charges is the main factor of the fission process, and allows judging the dynamics of the fission process and processes effecting the formation of fragments when a nucleus moves from the saddle point to the breaking point. A sufficient amount of experimental materials regarding investigation of the above characteristics was collected. However, the accuracy of distribution measuring, especially the mass one, was not adequate in most experiments. The measuring conducted with mass-spectrometers of the recoil nuclei (LOENGRIN, France and Tashkent mass-spectrometer) certainly allows determining the mass number. Basically, the measured mass and energy distributions are well described with Wilkins' model and others
