Ground geochemical verification of potassium anomalies in Jeseniky Mts. detected by aerial surveying
Description
Nonferrous metal deposits in the Jeseniky Mountains revealed by aerial prospecting were verified using atmogeochemical, mercurometric, soil metallometric and gamma spectrometric methods. Devonian igneous rock complexes with high potassium content were studied. The ratios were verified of potassium, uranium and thorium characteristic of potassium metasomatism. Ground gamma spectrometry showed agreement with the results of aerial gamma spectrometry. Maximum concentrations found were 4.5 to 6% potassium, 1 to 5 ppm uranium and 1 to 15 ppm thorium. (Pu)
