Description

The accurate prediction of isothermal temperature coefficient of reactivity is important in the safety of any reactor. The safety analysis code PREDIS is used for estimating this coefficient using first order perturbation worth as input. In this paper the isothermal temperature coefficient calculation using PREDIS is validated against measured value of FBTR. The conservative models used for safety analysis may underpredict the value of isothermal temperature coefficient. It is observed that for an accurate prediction of the coefficient few of the conservative assumptions are to be modified. (author)
