Photospallation reactions in 24Mg, 25Mg, and 26Mg

Description
Yields were investigated for the production of 24Na, 22Na, 18F, and 7Be from photonuclear reactions induced in 24Mg, 25Mg, and 26Mg by bremsstrahlung with maximum energy 4.5 GeV. The dependence of the product yields on isospin values was obtained. Data from the present work together with those of Batist et al. on proton-nucleus spallation reactions in 24Mg, 26Mg, and 27Al were compared with theoretical estimates. A correction term dependent on the difference between the target and product isospin third projections was introduced into the Rudstam formula to improve the agreement
