The probe is fitted with a diffusion membrane in iron having an impurities content of 0.013 to 0.015% of carbon, 0.005% maximum of silicon, 0.17 to 0.03% manganese, 0.005% phosphorus, 0.025% maximum sulphur and 0.01 to 0.05% copper.
