A leading order QCD computation of π+π+->π+π+
Description
We have developed a general computer algorithm to numerically calculate the large number of tree diagrams associated with elastic hadron scattering. We use this method to calculate the amplitude and cross section for the reaction π+π+->π+π+. The contrasting behaviors of the hard and pinch contributions to this cross section suggest an attractive interpretation of the data on MN and NN elastic scattering. (orig.)
