Bronchial deposition of inhaled particles: dosimetry implications for radon progeny

Description
Inconsistencies exist between experimental inhalation exposure data and theoretical models predicting tracheobronchial aerosol deposition in human subjects. The relevance of these anomalies affecting radon progeny dosimetry are discussed regarding enhanced deposition and reduced mucociliary clearance at bronchial bifurcations, and relevance of unattached fractions.
