Study of pipe-whip parameters in pipelines

Description

The problem of the high energy pipe-whip, assuming an elastic-plastic behavior for the tube material and taking in account the internal pressure, is studied. The constraints are simulated as bilinear springs and viscous dampers. A general research, based on the finite element method was developed to analyse the phenomenon. The influence of the following parameters: gap, damping coefficient, stiffness, constraints positioning and internal pressure of the tube is studied. (Author)

Abstract (Portuguese)

(Autor)
