Mass-transfer of cadmium telluride in the CdTe-halogen-H2
Description
The thermodynamic analysis of the CdTe-H-H2 system (where H is Cl, Br and I) has been made to determine the more effective conditions of low-temperature evaporation and crystallization of CdTe in hydrogen flow involving halogenes. The experimental data of the calculation of partial pressures of the components are presented depending on temperature at C=1 and 100 (the stochiometric relation). The results of the thermodynamic analysis and its experimental verification have demonstrated that under open system conditions the most effective mass transfer of cadmium telluride at temperatures below 600 deg C is achieved in the iodine process. Highly iodine-alloyed thin epoxy layers of CdTe have been produced on mica and cadmium telluride substrates in the open iodine process in the temperature range from 400 to 470 deg C
