Description

Automatic translation:The accident at the ''Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant'', global in scale and consequences (Chernobyl), which occurred in 1986, led to the emergence of an acute and long-term problems of rehabilitation of the affected areas and the population living on them, as well as to the actualization of issues the formation of a culture of life safety among various categories of the population. Currently, the main hazard, in terms of environmental the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, is cesium-137. The area of contamination of Belarus with cesium-137 with a level above the established the standard is 41, 11 thousand km2, or 19.7% of the area republics, and the area of pollution in Russia is 55.1 thousand km2. Doses of internal and external radiation, received by the population from cesium-137 Chernobyl origin, depend on a number of factors. Particularly from lifestyle and traditions, as well as on characteristics locality, and especially - on the type soil pollution. Currently predominant contribution to Chernobyl individual dose loads on contaminated territories are subject to internal irradiation due to food consumption, contaminated with cesium-137. One of the most significant problems is the consumption of contaminated mushrooms, berries and other ''gifts of the forest''. Their contribution to the internal dose of Chernobyl can reach 70-80%.
