Electronic energies and ionization potentials of YbX (X = F, OH, Cl, Br and I) molecules

Description
Using a simple modification of ligand field model an interrelation between position of electronic terms and ionization potential of ionic molecules has been ascertained. On the basis of the regularity mentioned the ionization adiabatic potentials have been defined (±0.05 eV):YbF (5.91), YbCl (6.10), YbBr(6.12), YbI (6.20), as well as YbOH monohydroxide (6.04). YbOH spectrum observed in methane flames has been referred to define I0(YbOH). 26 refs.; 5 figs.; 3 tabs
