On the 3π-system production in the π-p → pπ+π-π- reaction at 4.5 GeV/c

Description

Using liquid-hydrogen bubble chambers, the author studied characteristics of production and decay of the 3π-system from the π-p → pπ+π-π- reaction for the momentum of 4.5 GeV/c. The dependence of the slope of the differential cross sections dsigma/dt on the mass of the 3π-system is determined; problems of helicity conservation on production of the peripheral 3π-system are discussed. Results obtained are well described by Regge's pole exchange model
