Fusion research at the Juelich research center
Description
The Juelich Research Center participates in the international efforts made to achieve controlled nuclear fusion in close cooperation with the EURATOM associations with the neighboring countries of Belgium and the Netherlands by erecting in Juelich the TEXTOR tokamak, and by participating in other large experiments through close networking of research activities at various locations. The research program focuses on the plasma - wall interaction, energy confinement and the dissipation of energy and particles, and the dynamic ergodic divertor as a novel concept of optimizing the plasma - wall interaction. Abstract (German)
Das Forschungszentrum Juelich beteiligt sich an den internationalen Anstrengungen zur Realisierung der kontrollierten Kernfusion in engem Verbund mit den EURATOM-Assoziationen der Nachbarlaender Belgien und den Niederlanden durch den Betrieb des Tokamaks TEXTOR in Juelich sowie durch Beteiligung an anderen Grossepxerimenten mittels vielfaeltiger Vernetzung von Forschungsaktivitaeten an unterschiedlichen Standorten. Die Schwerpunkte des Forschungsprogramms liegen auf den Gebieten Plasma-Wand-Wechselwirkung, Energieeinschluss und Abfuhr von Energie und Teilchen, sowie Erforschung des Dynamischen Ergodischen Divertors als neuartigem Konzept zur Optimierung der Plasma-Wand-Wechselwirkung.
